In fact, Jones Construction Company is a proud member of the Black Hills Home Builder Association (BHHBA) and even won “Best of Show” in the Annual BHHBA Parade of Homes. Owner Ross Jones was eventually inducted into the BHHBA Hall of Fame for his dedication and efforts in promoting the home construction industry in the Black Hills Region. Experienced Work, Quality Results

Our years of experience are what make it possible for us to complete projects on time, within budget, and without sacrificing the quality of our work. In 1983, Ross Jones earned his Bachelor of Science in Construction Technology. In 1990, he went on to start Jones Construction Company after seven years of working in the industry. Working with his wife, Melanie, the two have taken their combined years of experience to ensure every project is completed to the highest standards.

Ross oversees all of the building and works on much of the excavation work himself. He and his experienced team of carpenters complete everything from framing and exterior finishes, down to interior finishes. Melanie is in charge of office management, helping the team and their clients with scheduling, selection, and the bids process.

We’re not inclined to write reviews but in the case of Ross Jones Construction, we feel compelled to share our experience with this great company.  We were looking for a builder to guide us in the construction of a retirement home that would not only accommodate our needs but accentuate the beautiful mountaintop views of our property. Taking the time to understand our needs and expectations, the professional team of Jones Construction created a stunning retirement home that far exceeded our dreams. During the design phase they took the time to ask all the right questions to develop a plan that was exactly what we were looking for.  Ross went to the lot and staked out the house, so we could visualize the views.  Ross had some incredibly creative ideas and practical suggestions that we immediately adopted.  For example, a meandering driveway up through the trees, ending on a nice flat, large, concrete pad in front of the garage.  It is a stunning approach to the house.  It didn’t take long for us to develop great confidence in the experience and judgement of Ross Jones. Melanie kept the project organized and focused, guiding us through all the detailed decisions that could have been overwhelming.  Not only did her “design eye” prove to be an invaluable asset, her knowledge and experience in the construction trades kept us on track and on budget. The skilled craftsman employed by Ross Jones construction were knowledgeable and conscientious.  From our perception, they were building this house as if it were their own.  We spoke with them on many occasions and always left with a feeling of assurance and confidence that they were building it right, and not taking shortcuts. If you’re of the mind to build a custom home, and are looking for a smart, savvy and experienced builder, we suggest you take a moment and meet Ross and Melanie.
